We have used Direct Deposit for several years.  The key for us was working with our bank to accept the direct deposit file.  Our bank accepts the direct deposit file from Sage as a NACHA file.  We simply have to open the bank software and upload the Sage direct deposit file.  If you haven't already worked with your bank, I would start there.

I agree - work with your bank first to see if the file you are uploading is in the format they accept.

We added emailing the paystubs as well once payroll is processed.

It's working great.

First you have to add the correct formatting settings in 7-1 Payroll Direct Deposit according to your bank's NACHA file requirements.  Most banks require the file to be uploaded via their website not mailed or emailed.  Their system will either accept or reject the file.  If its rejected you need to find out why and make the changes to the setup in 7-1.  Who is your bank?  Did you get their requirements?  They may also provide upload instructions.  

I can tell you if you Chase Bank, they have requirements that Sage is unable to match.  Therefore you will need a custom Nacha file created.  Wright Office Solutions offers that option.  https://wrightoffice.com/direct-deposit-manager/

I use Bank of America. I was told by my business banker's boss that it should be working. I've gone up a couple levels talking to B of A big wigs but it still doesn't seem to work/ I will keep trying. I was hoping someone was actually using it and it was working.

This helps. I didn't know to go through the banks software to upload the direct deposit file report. I use Bank of America.
