Editing Shortcuts

SOLVED

Aloha,

How do we get Sage to store our shortcuts so that they appear when we sign in on a different workstation?

Thanks,

Unfortunately you cannot point sage to another location.  However I do recommend that your IT person set up some automatic backup of those file locations from each workstation over to a place on the server so that when you change workstations or a computer crashes you can copy them to a new computer.

Note:  The AppData folder is a system folder and by default Windows hides systems folders so you will need to change your folder view settings to see them.  I also recommend unchecking the "hide extension of known file types" because I like to know the extensions of all the files.

    The location is:

    c:\users\your windows login name\AppData\Local\Sage\sage 100 Contractor\User Maps\your Sage 100 login name\ *.map

There will be a different file * for each Sage 100 tab.

I usually put all my shortcuts on the Home & Resources Tab or the Reports Tab since those are blank to start with.

    Thanks Char.

So, if I copy the *.map files from computer 1 to computer 2, will we get our shortcuts to show on the second computer?

Likewise, if I copy them from one user to another, will they propagate as expected?

Yes that is correct.  But be careful that the second user doesn't already have a custom map or it will be lost.

Remember the deep path is unique for everyone since its under the user's windows login name
