Using standard Pay ID 4 for something other than sick?

We are looking to use Pay ID 4 for something other than Sick and I was wanting to find out how much this is tied to related to Sick and what all it may break.  We currently do not use Pay ID 4 for Sick and would like to use it for a Shift Differential Pay ID.  Anyone know if there is too much tied to this Pay ID and what all changing this would affect?  Thanks so much.

    Hi Bobby,

    Pay IDs in Sage 300CRE Payroll are not standard, you would customize the setup and how you use them when you implement Payroll. Whoever helped your company setup payroll may have setup a pay ID "4" specifically for you, or they may have set you up using a template that they used to help set up other companies.

    Either way, the best answer is if you don't use Pay ID "4" and or you want to set up something else, you should be fine to do so. You would need to delete it and set it up again.

    To be safe, you will want to run the Reports, Employee Totals, Employee Earnings Totals and make sure no one has any amounts for that pay ID.
