New Functionality

SUGGESTED

We were updated from the retired version 14 to 18,  I have not seen any changes or enhancements in the software, still looks the same as years ago, am I missing something?

    Lynn,

You can see the changes/updates with each version by accessing the version, then the Release Notes at http://cdn.na.sage.com/docs/en/customer/300cre/S300CRE_Docs.html?utm_source=helpmenu&utm_medium=inproduct&utm_campaign=sage300cre.

You can always access this web page through your Sage software at Help > Product Documents.  With each version, the updates may or may not apply to you.  Generally there have been Payroll updates each year, but if you've been on version 14 until recently I am guessing you are not processing Payroll through Sage and would be unaffected by these changes.  Some updates make tools available for your IT person/firm regarding Licensing and backup options as well as duplicating your data into a Microsoft SQL database which can generate Crystal Reports faster than in your native (Pervasive SQL) database.

I recommend starting in the Release Overview section and then click the links of updates of interest.  A few changes to note are:

    • System Administrator - manages SQL replication and automated backups
    • Cash Management - can now import cleared checks.
    • Newer Operating Systems now supported while retired Operating Systems are not.

There are more, but are usually application specific.
