Union Payroll Setup-Fringes at OT and DT Rates

SOLVED

We are doing a project in IL.  The local union agreement requires that some of the union benefits be paid out at OT and DT rates.  Becuase we are doing night shift work and start on Sundays, all Sunday hours up to 12 am are at DT and the rest of the night hours will be at a special shift differential rate.  Does anyone know how we can set up the benefit fringes to calculate correctly?  Right now the Union table is set up by the local and is pulled from payroll setup.  This is the first time we have run into beneftis that will have different rates than the standard rate.

    Hi Donna,

The calculation method of "Hrs Paid" may work for you. Hrs Paid calculates the OT factor of 1.5 for OT hours when calculating the fringe.

From our Help Topics in Payroll:

Use if the pay, deduction, or fringe is based on the number of hours paid—the regular hours + (overtime hours X overtime factor).

For example, an employee worked 40 regular hours and 5 overtime hours for the week. The overtime factor is 1.5. A union health benefit is $1.40 for each hour paid. Select Hrs paid for the Calc method and 1.40 for the Amount. The benefit amount is $66.50; (47.5 X 1.40).

    Thanks!
