I contacted tech support about upgrading my Timeslips 2007 to 2017 and they provided me this link:
I read it over but it's not too clear. I wanted to know the exact procedure on doing this upgrade. Since i'm running 2007, do I install 2017 on the server first in the same directory of my 2007 shared folder to upgrade it or do I install it in another folder first, run the open database to upgrade the database to firebird, then run the workstation setup to upgrade the other workstation from the share?
When I ran the 2017 setup on the server, it automatically picked up my shared folder for 2007 but I didn't want to overwrite the files and not convert the database to the new format (firebird?)
My setup is running Windows 7 Pro, x64 as a peer-to-peer network with 3 workstations, and I've had this setup with Timeslips 2007. I want to upgrade it to 2017, since I can't install it on any newer versions of Windows, so that's why I'm upgrading it to the latest version.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
