Referral Fees - how to track

Does anyone have advice on how to track referral fees in Timeslilps? We have some clients referred by outside attorneys to which we have agreed to pay a referral fee. I'm wondering how to track this or flag the matters so that calculating the fees would be easy. Any ideas?

You could setup custom fields with the information and then try a user defined custom report based on AR payments. My business partners have done this type of report and it makes the process easy, but there is cost involved especially because of the need to purchase the ODBC link to read the data out of Timeslips. I'm not sure what an "ODBC" link is. PLease elaborate

It's a "tool" that allows outside programs to read the Timeslips data. If you decide to proceed with the option I mentioned we would assist with the purchase and setup.
