The blast email I just received says "Timeslips 2019 (Perpetual) has just released." What does "Perpetual" mean?

Moving this post to the Sage Timeslips Support Group.
Thanks,

Sage sells Timeslips in two "flavors": 1) Premium is priced on a subscription model - allowing those who like to be running the latest version and a predictable budget line item year over year to stay current and project/manage their spend. 2) Perpetual is the older traditional model of pay once and using it as long as you can keep it running. Sage will support the last two versions, after that you are running "unsupported" software. Doesn't mean it stops working, but does mean no updates, fixes or ability to call Sage for help. Can make for a spiking spending budget where you pay a lot in year 1, then not much if anything for several years, then have another high spend year. You also want to make sure you don't go too long without an upgrade....
Many of my customers like the Perpetual product pricing, and don't mind paying me on an hourly/as needed basis for third party support.
Just as an FYI, v2019 has been released since early spring. What just got released this week was the August Service Release (including both fixes and a couple of new features). The Service Release is free to all v2019 users.
Hope that helps.
