TSAdmin won't run - repeat problem

I am using Sage Timeslips 2019

We have 10 licenses but 12 users.  It is not cost effective to buy more licenses because normally only 4 to 6 people are logged in at a time.  About once a week I have to use TSAdmin to clear the licenses because when the others log out it does not release their license.  This works just fine ... MOST of the time.

I have had to call Timeslips tech support several times recently because TSAdmin just stops working.  When I try to clear a license I get a popup box with a red X - no dialogue, just a red X.  I have tried restarting my computer but it does not help.  I dislike having to call Timeslips tech support every couple of weeks.

Are there steps to fix this issue myself?

Thanks,

    Becky:

If you have fewer licenses than you have users, you will need to periodically/manually clear them out. That's just how license management in Timeslips works.

Not sure why you are getting the red X. What does tech support do when you call them about it?

There's another way I would tackle that problem that would not require using TSAdmin at all.  Give me a shout if you are interested.

Per KB 90117, the issue is almost always found to be a problem with open files on the server.

The article explains the steps on how to correct it.

And you may also want to review the licensing for the product in the End-User License Agreement (EULA).  The licenses are not intended to release, and are perpetually held by the Windows user/machine combination, by design.
