After migrating from 2015 to 2019 network unstable, too many open files created by TimeSlips

SUGGESTED

Upgraded from TImeSlips 2015 to 2019 and now the network is unstable and another app my clients use no freezes up. The app is Worlox and it appears to be failing because of intermittent connection back to the server. This never happened prior to the TimeSlips conversion. I also notice Firebird database errors on some computers and it happens to be when the Firebird errors show Worldox also doesn't update and stops communicating back to the server. Didn't have any network errors prior to the migration.

I checked the Open Files on the server and noticed that TimeSlips has basically taken over. You can see on some computers it's opened more than 4,000 files/connections. This is something I've never seen before and wonder if this is causing issues with other applications having problems communicating with the server. Note, Worldox didn't have any issues prior to the TimeSlips migration. Is there a way to configure TimeSlips connection limits, I've never seen this and can't see the benefit of this type of configuration.

See support article 87614. <---Yep, that's a link to it right there. ;-)

The open files are being caused by the backup service running on the desktops.  Kill the service on the desktop, and it will stop the open files.
