Upgrading from Legacy version of Timeslips

Posted By FormerMember

I have an old legacy version of Timeslips, Timeslips 5 for Windows.  It was developed for Windows 3.1.  It still works on my Windows 8 Professional Running Windows XP Mode, but none of my other computers can use it, because Windows 10 does not have Windows XP Mode.  It still works, I have been using it for 25 years.  I guess its time to upgrade to a new version that works on modern computers, but all of my current billing is in this system.

Can I upgrade in stages from this old version to intermediate versions that will upgrade the database, so that I can buy the latest version and keep my data intact?

the good news is that your Timeslips data is pretty much always upgradable to the latest version.

Something really old like a Timeslips 5 may need to some extra attention to get the data through as it has to go through more upgrade steps, but yep, it can be done. As has mentioned a third party Certified Consultant could help you with that and give you a quick training lesson on the changes since your v5.
