Slip Entry Client Search

SOLVED

The issues we're seeing in TS2019 (27.0.2.233) is very similar to the one back in 2014 where the client drop down in slip entry would not search properly and each keystroke would jump to the next first character match. On 2019 it will work but but the time delay between keystrokes is so extremely short that most users can't manage to do it before the time out and search starts over.

I'd estimate that to make it work, the user would need to type the search in at at least 20cps. If they have to read it, they are already going too slow. The young data entry clerks tend to not have an issue, but everybody else that's started to use TS is complaining. I'm a far better than average typist, but I have mild RSI and I can only make that search work about half the time...

The timeout between keystrokes feels like <10ms. I'm not even sure if the average person over 40 can move their fingers between keys that fast.

Is there anyway to adjust the timeout between keystrokes on the drop down search?

Under Settings, Preferences, Interface, Navigation Rules, the last item on the right should be Type Search. Try changing that setting to a few more seconds.  Save, exit Timeslips, log back in and see if that helps.
