How to install an upgrade on a computer that doesn't have TS installed.

I have TS 2011 on my old computer, which basically crashed. I have my backups of data. I have an upgrade to 2014 that I am trying to install on a brand new computer but it doesn't have TS on it.  Is there a trick to doing this?

If you have it available, you can view the reinstall code on your old version, install it on the new machine and then upgrade. Alternatively, you can usually just copy over the Timeslips program folder from the old workstation and then upgrade.

I can't open the TS on my old computer.  It says something about clipboard in use and Paradox.  Would the mere presence of the copy of the (now corrupted) files from the old computer suffice to allow the computer to install the upgrade?

On the old computer search for pdoxusrs.* and delete any found. Also look for paradox.lck and delete any. You will want to search in the Timeslips program folder and the Timeslips database folder.

Generally speaking, copying over should be sufficient but I would be reluctant to copy over corrupted files.

If you call support you may be able to get an installation code that will allow you to install without the prior version. If you don't have a support plan, a certified consultant may be able to get it for you.
