I transferred to a new computer.  Loaded TS 2011 and transferred my data.  Everything worked for a couple of weeks and then I got a message that I didn't have any enough licenses.  I cleared the license from the old machine.  Then I got a message "C:\Program Files (x86)\Data01\ABBREV.db The file was created by a newer version of this program."  Searching for an answer online it was recommended that I install SP1 &2. However, those patches are no longer online for download.  I'm sure you can appreciate how frustrating this is.  I'm sure the newest TS is a great program but what I have is really all I need.  Any solutions?

  • Is Timeslips running on a server and you are just a workstation or is your machine the only machine? Sounds like it wasn't installed properly if clearing a license messed up a different computer. When you have a server you install from the loclinst folder to the new workstation. This should automatically install all service releases that are installed on the original.

These are separate machines. I installed from the original disc.

Did you keep a copy of any Service Releases that you downloaded on the first machine? If you need the SRs, most Certified Consultants have then in our software libraries.

Usually, if it is Service Releases that you need, you get that message immediately upon opening the database. So I'm not sure why it was working for a bit and THEN kicked that message.
