Conversion and bill display problems -- an answer

SUGGESTED

Okay not a question, but this is the only place I could get to.

Problem:  in bill display, my bills had no column headings, time or hours and none of the math was done.  Descriptions were cut short and partly missing.  However, when I pdf'd the bill, it was all there.  But in display, I could not review the bill before finalizing.

ANSWER:  go the TS icon and right click on the icon.  Go to properties.  In properties, go to the compatibility tab and select "disable display scaling in high DPI settings.

New computers have hi-res and you have to disable it in TS properties in order that your display of a bill is not distorted and missing information (in display).  It will pdf properly.

Hope this helps someone.

Thank you for the answer as I am having the same problem. When I print to display, the entire right side of the bill is blank. However, I cannot seem to find the TS icon which you advise to "right click on" so I cannot solve the display problem. Please tell me where I can find the TS icon so I can fix this problem. thanks

There might not be an icon if you have pinned it to your taskbar instead, and Windows 11 changes the solution as well.

It's possible also that it is unrelated to display properties - our newer versions Timeslips Premium do not get affected like older Timeslips versions did - and the issue could be related to the Windows Print Server 'thinking' that the page size is for an envelope or post card.

    Try these things -

    • in Timeslips click File, Print Setup and verify settings there
    • print to PDF or to a different printer
