Its set to allow.

Can you make the change directly in Journal Entry? If the original entry is from a subledger, it probably won't let you do it. Have you considered just reversing the entry?

I have a similar need. Working to fix 250 transactions posted on wrong date. Period is still open. Per pnightinggale below, it is possible to simply update some of the JE dates, but not all.  From what I can tell, transactions that relate to stock movements, and AP/AR transactions that have been 'matched' in any way cannot simply be updated.

The journals coming from the modules can't be changed. Those, you can reverse them on the "wrong date" and then reverse the reversal on the date they should have hit. Another option,  if all the journals are on one date, is to total up all 250 transactions by account and do one journal entry that reverses them and then just reverse that transaction.

The import template GAS is based on process GASIMPORT and updates are not authorized by this process. You have to copy the import template GAS, uncheck 'Special Import' and replace process name GASIMPORT with IMPGAS. Then try again to import your file for update.

This workaround above is relative to journal entries that are in Temporary status, I am not sure it's possible to update the transactions from subledgers even if they are in Temporary status as I've not attempted to do that.

Note the function FUNIPTD is dedicated to changing the date of stock movements (and only stock movement). But it has to be document per document...
