Need to know what revenue account is being triggered for a product

Hello People,

Good day!

Hope you guys are doing well. I came across with an inquiry in my company on how can I determine the code being triggered for a particular product for revenue?. I understand that it could be found on the accounting codes via product category, but im just wondering which one is which.

Moreover, I am attaching a screenshot below for my other question of what does it mean if the field is blank. will it still trigger something? or will it just be skipped?.

Thanks and Hope to hear from you,

    Hello,

The particular lines can be determined by the Automatic Journals. For instance in the screen shots you can see SIHI (Customer Invoices - sales) on line 20 at he bottom will show which accounting codes and which lines of the accounting codes are to be affected.

In the last screenshot you can see that Item line sales revenue (line 20) will look at the Accounting codes:

    Customer (line 17)

    Product (line 2)

    Tax (line 19)

    Hi,

Thanks for your response in line with this concern. What about if the account code for a particular modifier is blank? what does that mean?

    Thanks

    Hello,

In many cases you will get an error stating "No Account Found" if they are blank within different entities. If there is an accounting code for sales defined for Customer and not Product, then the automatic journal line will take into account what was defined for Customer sales revenue account in the accounting code.

There can also be formulas in the conditions of those accounting code lines if customized, that override either a blank or defined accounting code.

I have also noticed that we have multiple legislation setted up as you can see on my initial screenshot. What does that entails?. Does it mean it will be taken into consideration for the logic of the automatic journal?. Thank you again for your swift response. :)

When the account code is blank, if you have a Suspense account code set up it will use this account. The suspense account is set up under Setup > Organizational structure > Chart of accounts.

Also in Rafael's example for Line 20, if all or some of those Account Code / Indexes have associated accounts, it is going to grab the first one with an account.

    Hi,

To answer your final question of those 3 columns in your screenshot and what they represent, they are different Chart of Accounts that are linked up to these accounting codes. You can review the setup here:

Setup >  Financials >  Accounting interface >  Acc. code entry transactions
