recommendations for pallet tag printers that works with V6.5 and also V11.

Hello all. We are in a situation where we've been ask to add a couple new label printers. I'm tired of forking out nearly $1500 for the Datamax M4308s. Does anyone use others less expensive solution for printing small pallet tags ? We are currently running V6.5 Patch 28, but are in negotiations to upgrade to V11 in the very near future.

What size tags are you printing? Are you always printing in the same location? How many labels per day?

ZPL can be set up as a destination and Mobile Zebra printers go for less than $1000. My last job was in a 24/7 repetitive manufacturing facility that used Zebra 4M Plus along with Zebra portable printers to produce all product (internal and external) and shipping labels, mostly 4X6 and 3X4, but also labels as small as .75 X 1.75.

The size are looking to print are 1.5x1. I should add with the heat that occurs in our plant we would rather stay away from the Heat Transfer labels.
