Is there a report that shows me the 12 month usage for all raw materials within a certain category?

SUGGESTED

Is there a report that shows me the 12 month usage, current inventory, and the safety stock for all raw materials within a certain category? I buy hundreds of chemicals for my company, and I want to be able to view on one report the 12 month history/usage for of all of those chemicals and export it to a excel worksheet. I want to be able to sort from highest to lowest in volume, to ensure my safety stocks are at accurate levels to eliminate shortages, and to make better buying decisions.

I believe you just need to export the ITMMVTHIS table to get the information you need

    Julien,

Where do I find that table? I typed it in the general search box and nothing came up.

You can find any table in the table dictionnary function (GESATB).

You can view the content in the product-site function (GESITF) on the tab TOTALS where you can see per period the total quantity issued on the period.

Anyway if your goal is to export the data in excel, then you should set an export template based on this table using the import / export template function (GESAOE) or if you are more familiar with the requester (GESALT) it should work as well.

    Julien,

I was able to find the table but how do I display the raw materials? Do I need to enter anything in the fields? .

    Also, it's saying that the

    Danelle,

The table dictionnary function Julien suggested is used to change the database definiation, and is part of the development tool kit. It allows you to add additional fields in the database table for customizations purposes. However, it does NOT display the data within the database. I would strongly advise you not to change any settings in that function unless you have gone through basice X3/EM development training.

The ITMMVTHIST database table keeps a summarized stock information. When you go to the product site function and click on the  "totals" tab, all the information you are seeing are pulling from the "ITMMVTHIST" table. I understand the requirement is to see those info by a range of products, not product by product like the product-site function offers. Since X3/EM does not offer such report/inquiry out of the box, Julien was suggeting you to build your own user define inquiry (aka requestor) with the database table he suggested. You can find the requestor building function under "setup-> Usage -> Reports -> Graphical Query Tools"

Michael, I did play around with the fields, but I'm not sure if I made any changes. How would I know if I did?

if you got the "GESATB : Access restricted by the license." error, you should not be able to make any changes. To make changes in the development tool kit, you will require the Dev Badge. If you don't, you would get the "access restricted by the license" warning when access the function, and you would not be able to modify it.
