Journal Entry

SOLVED

Who knows when is the journal entry for STOJOU  supposed to be generated from a work order, when you do the production tracking, or when you do WIP posting?

I am testing on a couple of systems and I dont see any STOJOU entry from production tracking.....

STOJOU means stock movement journal, therefore if you track raw materials consumption, or by-product or production, it will create records on that table, and after when the periodic processing into accounting runs, it will book it in the accounting journal. Notice that you might have some consolidation when booking in accounting then in STOJOU, depending on the parameters.

Note if using the WIP interface, then the posting is done from the WIPCOST table and not from STOJOU. After the WIP finalization funciton is run for the work order, the STOJOU records (related to the produced good) will be updated with the final production cost value.

So, upon material or production tracking STOJOU records are created immediatly. I advise you to verify the way you consult STOJOU records: if you are using a request it may not be properly set, if you are using the stock movement inquiry then pay attention to the filter criteria (for instance if you manage pending transactions you have to change the default criteria).

If you are sure, there is no STOJOU records after creating succefully a material or production tracking, then this is an anomaly you should report.

    verified answer

Thank you but my question was when do the records get inserted on STOJOU. Do they get generated when you create the work order, when you create the production tracking or when you run In Process Posting or WIP Finalization and the clear answer is that they get generated as soon as you hit Create on the Production Tracking (Necessary Production Reporting and Material Tracking ), that was all and I tested it. Also important to note, even if you delete the tracking by modification of issues, the stojou records for that production tracking remains and a second line per material gets entered with a negative amount.

That last mention is the behaviour of STOJOU everywhere, when you receive goods, if you delete the goods receipts it behaves the same way. Clear!
