External web services timeout error

I'm trying to connect to an external IBAN service https://api.iban.com and I've added this to Sage under REST Web Services, however I keep getting a timeout error when trying to do a GET request.

The service is available through the server directly through the browser and is not being blocked by the firewall.

I keep getting this error below:

maybe because of the hhtpS? can you try with http? How do you authenticate?

Thanks, I've tried with both HTTP and HTTPS, with the same issue. As it's a GET request, there's no real authentication necessary for this service, other than passing the api key through the URL.
