Stock Count - Negative stock Error when validating movement

Hi all,

My company did Stock Count for a warehouse. When we went to validate the movement for that stock count session (Stock > Counts > Counts) , we met this error for some SKUs: "This movement cannot be performed, it generates a negative stock".

We don't find any issue with these SKUs. For example - EXR13185/1P0523-0001 the current stock number on Sage is 398.25, we did physical stock count it's 297.5. Last stock change transaction was months ago. It should be OK to validate because it wouldn't cause a negative stock. 

Could you please advise the possible cause and how we can do to solve this issue?

    Have you been able to find a solution to this issue? We are facing the same while doing a stock count.

    Hi MC_SEI,

    Yes we found out that we were trying to validate a stock count belonging to a CLOSED stock period. 

    You may try one of the solutions below:

    1. Close all the count sheets and the stock quantity for the items mentioned will remain no change. Make the stock adjustment in the next period;
    2. Reopen the stock period and adjust in that period. Please take note, once the counted stock being validated after reopen the stock period, it will impact the stock ledger in that period.
