Have you checked the COA and made sure the proper accounts are defined if not already?

Setup, Organizational Structure, Chart of accounts).

1. Choose the chart of accounts code involved from the left list.
2. Go the Miscellaneous Accounts section.
3. Look for the Carry forward account line.
4. Enter a valid account that will be used for the offset account that will close to the Retained Earnings account.

Yes, a valid carry forward account is entered on the Miscellaneous Accounts. Can I ask why did you propose to look at this configuration as an answer to the issue?

Do you have more suggestions?

I ran a test where I added in the Controls grid, the group ledger account (along with the lega ledger that was already there) on the Journal codes function and the journal was imported. Do you know if the accounts that are mapped into the legal ledger needs to be declared in here as well?

Also, I would suggest looking at the mapped ledgers to declare there as well for good measure.
