Is it possible to use the SQL Import / Export Wizard to copy from PRODUCTION to PILOT?

SUGGESTED

I need to update the SO and PO tables on a daily basis to test an automation customization I am working on.  Has anyone used the Microsoft SQL Import / Export Wizard to create an SSIS package to copy data from PRODUCTION to PILOT?  Does that work?  If so, are there any potential issues I need to worry about when I do this?

I have no specific experience on MSSQL import/export. But when you update tables on a database level you bypass all applicative controls. So if you update a subset of data you may create inconsistencies in the database and corrupt your database with no other choice but to restore the last uncorrupted backup. Due to the risk, I recommend to never do this on a production folder. If someone has a different experience to share, I would be very interested.
