In version 12 I've changed my approach to recommend the use of the Account Balances inquiry (Financials > Inquiries > Account Balances) when a client requests a trial balance.  If they need the trial balance inclusive of dimensions I would recommend the Dimension Balances inquiry.  Being that these are inquiries in X3 it exports well out into MS Excel which is to the liking of most accounting managers.  

thanks for info Kevin- I did run the Dimensions Balance inquiry and unfortunately did not get correct results.   There seems to be something wrong with the dimension balances.  I know in the past versions this was somewhat of an issue.   running inquiry with dimensions doesn't return same results as running account balance without dims.

There should be an entry in on line help for reports.

The report to use in sage is the GLANA reports.  GLANA1 is by account, GLANA2 is by account/dimension

GLGRP reports can also be used as a TB but without dimensions.

thanks for info-  i did run both GLANA reports and got blanks....  i have the most recent versions uploaded too so don't know why won't run.

If you run the account balances enquiry you can print a trial balance from that using the print function.

It is a comprehensive report with lots of options
