Sage X3 - Stock Accounting Task

SUGGESTED

Hi

Sage X3 V 12 pu 24 Patch.

We have recently had a SQL corruption that was repaired on the client.  Long story short restoring to a valid backup was not an option.

Not ideal and measures have been taken to avoid this in the future.

The SQL is all repaired and not reporting any issues and Sage X3 all functions are operating as expecting except for the Stock Accounting Interface.

  • Account Interface runs
  • MRP Runs
  • All Transactions can be posted
  • Inquiries can run

The Stock account Interface is just spinning to screen, entries do look like they are going through.

Can you please help us with any suggestions.

Thanks

    Hi

Did you run the tables indexation since the restoration?

Is it only a performance issue (very slow) or the process is not even able to complete properly?

Stock accounting interface is mostly based on STOJOU and automatic journals.

    • So I can suggest to check if the new STOJOU records (created after the restoration) and old STOJOU records are build the same way (are you missing any fields?).
    • Then I would suggest to review the automatic journals setup (using the auto journal comparison function for instance).

If you want to be sure to check if this come from the restored data or not. I can also suggest to copy the folder in a test enviromnent > create a new financial & stock site > create few stock transactions on this new site > check if the stock interface on the new financial site is running properly.

Julien - Thank you so much for your response.

Can you clarify the Tables indexation process?.

The Stock Interface just spins and never appears to complete but the entries are as far as we can tell continuing to post all correctly through to the General Ledger.

To verify we tried the following.

    1. Create a new site in function GESFCY.
    2. Run FUNSTKACC for this specific new site.

This worked so we tried to run for the other Stock Site and the interface just seems to spin.

But I will now go an add some entries to the new site and compare STOJOU records to the ones prior

    • Run the FUNSTKACC manually for each site and wait until it completes.(Start with to the site with least number of transaction)
    • This just spins and nevers says complete but the journals appear to process.

I was referring to table indexation in SQL.

and never appears to complete but the entries are as far as we can tell continuing to post all correctly through to the General Ledger.

So the screen is spinning but the process is working (stock journals are created) is that right?

At least if this is working on the new site based on new transactions, it is safe to say the configuration and script of the FUNSTKACC process are corrects. Then, the data must be the reason for the issue. Best suspect is the table STOJOU. If really past transactions are not being process a drastic approach could be to flag the past transactions as posted and rely on the valuation report to calculate/verify the stock balance, then I hope new transactions will be able to be processed w/o errors.
Of course, this must be tested & approved before implemented in Live.

Hi Julien  So I have just found out that we can see entries for the Value Changes and Quantity Changes but no Inventory movements such as shipments and receipts.  Weird that some come through and not others.

Thanks for your suggestion we will go about testing it.
