Create new Browser Bars in Sales Orders Left List X3 V6.5

SUGGESTED

Does anyone know how to create new Browser Bars in the Sales Order left list

We have 5 Sales order Types (SOHTYP=S1, S2, S3, S4, S5) and I would like a separate browser bar for each one so that when I click on the "S1" bar I get a left list filled with only S1 type orders. And so on

i know I can achieve this left list filtering with the Selection menu at the top but it would be neater if the user just clicked the appropriate browser bar on the left

Secondly..

We have a separate Entry Transaction for each Order Type (this was setup by our consultants) but I don't know what this achieves. When you go into Sales Orders you are first presented with a box listing the various sales order transactions where yo uchoose the transaction you want. But each one brings you to the same Orders screen with exactly the same records in the left list. When I look at the Entry Transaction definitions they are all identical and are not linked in any way to the Order Types. Am I OK to reduce this list to 1 entry transaction

Thanks for any advice

    Hi,

You can set-up browsers as objects. See the built-in browser SQ1 (Quote selection) that is on the OSOH window for a template. You would simply specify a new object code and SORDER as the linked table and then on the selection tab, change the criteria to match each of your 5 types. After those are set-up, go back to OSOH window and put in your newly created object types on the browser tab.

On your second question, as long as all of the entry transactions are completely identical, I'd say it would be ok. Best practice would be to deactivate them first and run for awhile to make sure they aren't being used, and then delete them after a time that you are comfortable. Your consultant probably set those up as templates so that you could hide fields for certain types in the future.

Well I thought this would work but I can't get it to do what you are wanting in my test environment.

I'd tried doing this using the built-in browser SOH object as a template and couldnt get it to work either. Bit strange!

let me know if you discover anything
    thanks

I have not found a way to do this other than to create quick filters for the selection menu, as below:

In order to create these, hit advanced selection, enter your parameters, press the memo button, ensure global is checked and give it a code and a title.

You'll have to leave the screen and go back to see the menu item.

In response to your 2nd question, you can simply mark those additional entry transactions as inactive so they don't come up for in the selection list (and if theres only 1 it goes straight in).

By marking them as not active, if they were useful or setup for some other reason we aren't aware of you can just mark them as active again to use them.

    Hi Regular Guy
For some reason I didn't get your replies in email form (must check that out) so i've only just seen them.

thanks for the input. I have already setup the advanced selection filters but would prefer a left list option instead. Does anyone know why its not possible to define new browser objects for the Sales Order screen?

regarding the second issue, thanks I will just deactivate the other transactions

    cheers
