Some basic things we'd like to see are the version and patch you are on. In your specific case, there are some fixes related to "Unbalanced journal" errors so it's relevant here.

In addition to that, have you made any automatic journal changes recently?
Finally, have you run a SQL profiler trace to rule out any errors?
