Please follow these steps shared below:
To add a loan click on the + sign next to deductions on the employee’s payslip
Select loan>enter the balance >enter the deduction amount.
Once done. please click on Save.

Thank you for your response. My payroll wouldn't allow me to add the loan balance to the Deductions Screen. I added the loan balance to the Default Screen using code 8150. Is this correct? The loan will be paid to the employee over three months, and will then be payable over 3 months next year. Would I be able to add the 2nd and 3rd payments to the ee as I did with the first payment? When the loan is payable, then I would capture it on the Deductions page, correct?

On Sage Business Cloud Payroll we don't have a code linked to 8150.
Please confirm if you are using Pastel Payroll OR the online payroll product.

Thank you for the post.
Yes you will be able to add it again as many times as you want, however if the balance has been paid you will need to delete the line and when ready add back the 8150 and add the new balance.
