The new tax file for Ghana which is effective from 1 January 2024, is now available on the Sage Portal.
Take note, that you must complete your Tax Year-end Copy System in December 2023, and start a new pay period for January 2024, before installing the tax files. The tax rates will recalculate in the pay period where the tax files are installed.

How do I do I download and install the patch file?
Download from the Sage Portal:
- Access the Sage Portal
- Click on Product Updates
- Select your Sage VIP Premier
- Select Release 6.1b
- Scroll down and locate ' Tax File: Ghana Tax Tables and changes effective 1 January 2024 (Released 2024/01/19)' in the Africa Tax and Report File Downloads section
- Click on Download in the Software section to start the download process
Once you have downloaded the tax file:
- Your payroll must be on Release 6.1b to install this tax file
- Take note: If your payroll is on any prior version, you will need to update to Release 6.1b before installing the tax file
- Create your Tax Year-end Copy System prior to starting January 2024. Click here for more details
- It is recommended to make a full system backup before extracting the patch. Click here for more details
- Ensure no other users are accessing the payroll application, when extracting the files
- Locate the zipped tax file which was downloaded
- Double-click on the .ZIP file, which will open with the default program on your computer
- Select to Extract All the files
- Select the payroll application folder as extraction location.
- When prompted to overwrite existing files in the folder say Yes
- Close the application when the extraction is complete
