It looks like the M365 workaround, from that link, is no longer working.

My payslips are not going out again.

Microsoft error - Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream.

This is according to our IT architect.

We are also still unable to e-mail payslips as a result of this problem.  There has been no update regarding the Office 365 situation since the original October 2023 notice.  Not being able to e-mail slips is not only frustrating, it is now also costing us significantly more, because we are compelled to physically print secure payslips, like cavemen, for the fourth consecutive month.  

Please advise what progress has been made toward a solution to this problem.

The current solution allows users to send emails using smtp.office365.com:

Prerequisites

• TLS 1.2 must be activated on computer/server where emails are sent from
• Legacy TLS must be activated on Mail Exchange
• The email function only uses basic SMTP authentication - if the user uses AD (Active Directory) and/or multi-factor authentication, the feature will not work as expected

Additional patch files have been added  on the Sage Portal: instructions to install on o the Release 6.1b Product Update pages for both Sage VIP Classic and Premier.

Download, then extract, and copy the files to the specific locations on the workstation and server, overwriting the existing files:

• ReporterLibV2_2.0.4.1.zip - contains ReportLibV2.dll  to be copied to the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\ReporterLibV2\v4.0_2.0.0.0__a3241eb0f7e68aaf folder (
• DotNetZip.zip - contains DotNetZip.dll - copy to Sage VIP payroll folder

On the Sage Portal, select Product Updates > Sage VIP Classic or Premier > Release 6.1b, then scroll down to the Other Patch file section, where you will be able to download the files.
