Data Patching
Setup and configuration information is not protected by an activity code, does that mean after testing the new setup on test environment one cannot create a patch to upload changes to production environment? Actually it is possible to patch up the setup and configuration information and this is how:
- Information such as Requestors, Portal Pages, Portal Views, Portal Parameters, Statistical Triggers, Statistical Parameters, Statistical Lines, Entry transactions, Automatic Journals, Miscellaneous Tables, Crystal reports etc is setup and config and not development thereby no activity code protection. 
- From function APATCH specify the table code and the values of the data to be patched. Select the client destination so the patch file can be saved on your local machine downloads folder. Enter the object code and select the record(s) to be patched.
- Save the patch file following the recommended naming e.g.,
- Copy the patch file to the production environment and do a patch integration using the function PATCH and select the folders applicable.
