- The Retirement contributions (SSNIT) impact on the tax calculations for Ghana has been updated as per the following changes:
- Employer’s retirement contributions to any Tier are not tax deductible.
- Employer’s retirement contributions to any Tier are not taxable.
We recommend that this change be implemented at the start of the new tax year e.g., January 2022.
- SSNIT has revised the structure of the SSNIT Contributions Reports to include the NIA(National Identification Authority) numbers of the employees.
- A column has been added for the NIA number on the SSNIT report/s.
- The effective date of the report is November 2021.
