Sudden firewall issues running SAGE

I have been using SAGE without issue for the past year.  All of a sudden yesterday I couldn't open SAGE.  I received a troubleshooter message that said that my computer firewall is blocking required processes to access my data.  Then is gives me a whole list of processes that I need to add to my firewall's list of permitted programs.

I entered them all (painstakingly) into my firewall list and it's still not working.  I haven't changed my computer or computer protection software or even my ISP.  I don't understand how all of a sudden (at tax time), it doesn't work.  Help!

I should note that I even tried disabling my windows firewall and tried to run SAGE and that still didn't work.

Are you sure it is your firewall causing the problem? Can you open the universl.sai sample file? Are the files located on a server? If so, can anyone log into Sage 50 files from that server or is it just you?

I have the application stored on my hard drive. I am trying to access a file from my USB -- that I've been working on without problem for the past year.

Here is the error message I get when I try and open the company:

SAGE 50 cannot open the database because the database engine reported an error. Please see the error log for more
    information.

Note: SAGE 50 has detected a firewall which may be blocking files that are required by SAGE 50. Please ensure that
any necessary files have been added to your firewall's list of permitted programs.

To help resolve this issue, click "Help me troubleshoot".

When I click on the troubleshoot link, it gives me a whole list of required processes that I need to add to my firewall's list of permitted programs. I added them all with the exception of:

    Program Files\Sage 50 [Your Product Solution] [Year]\Simplyurl.exe

This one is not anywhere on my hard drive - but the others are.

I never run from a stick. They get full without realising it and then the program has no space to work. Copy the files to c:\Sage50Data and see if that works. Make sure you take the *.sai file and *.saj folder.
