Unable to open Sage since March 16th.

SOLVED

We are using 2011 version of Sage on Windows 10.   The system times out when we are trying to open the database with the message "Sage not responding".   It looked like there was a Windows update around the same time so we backed it but the same message appears.  Before I do anything else I thought I would check with people who know more than I do.   Thank-you everyone for any help that can be given.  Victoria

Victoria: Now that you have the file open I think you have probably solved the problem. However, running Sage 50 2011 version on Windows 10  may be the main cause of your setup running slow. I am running version 2012 on Windows 10  and it causes me concerns each time I open the company file. What needs to be considered is that Sage 50 2011 was never programmed to run on Windows 10 and consequently was never tested for Windows 10. Yes, one of the concerns I face with Version 2012 is that it is slower, much slower to the point of timing out when trying to make the initial connection through the connection manager. The Connection Manager is a program that controls the connection between Sage 50 and the data and is installed automatically when Sage 50 is installed. To solve this problem you need to be sure that you are not running too many other applications at the same time as you are trying to open Sage. I have found that patience is required more than moving files around or deleting files.

Thanks!  We will not be using this version of Sage after today except of course if we need to run past reports.  We have moved to a more basic product until the church is ready to embrace all of the functionality (and cost) of running Sage to its full potential. If that happens we will be updating the product.  Thanks for you help today and in the past!
