File update from 2017 edition to 2020 edition

SUGGESTED

Hello,

I updated three company files from 2017 to 2020.

Two files are updated.

However, one fie is not updated with error message.

It says,

"The program detected an error in your data when looking for information related record. You may want to restore your latest backup".

I restored backup, and, I did it again.

But, same situation.

How do I fix it?

Thanks,

    Hi Kaz:

To solve your problem I would suggest to you to first run a backup of the company file that didn't upgrade. When that is complete go to the maintenance menu and do an advanced database check. If this does not work you can use the dbutility tool to check and repair your data. If you have had this data file for a number of years sometimes old data has to be cleared. Last but not least call Sage and they should be able to help.

    Hi

I would suggest you look for an older .cab backup file, a week old, restore in 2017 as test, then check test.saj see if there is backup , excel or pdf file inside that you can clean them, then RUN advance database check that Agate suggested, if no error message then try to convert to 2020.

if you do not wish go try backups or backups are too old, you can call suggest Sage 50 support for assistance.

    Hello Agate,

    Thank you for reply.

I did the advanced database check.

    Still, same situation.

Also, I do not find the check and repair data in the DB utility.

I should ask the support desk.

    Thank you for your help.
