Are you referring to the automatic backups to OneDrive when you close Sage 50? If so, ensure under Setup, Settings, Company, Backup, ensure Create a cloud backup is setup with an account!

Thank you for answering. Yes it is checked off and associated with the microsoft 365 account login email that was provided.

It worked before but hasn't since either  1. When I had to rename the company due to having to open from a last backup. b/c I received the  "Cannot open company file. A required data file is missing" error message after I updated to 2021. or  2. When I updated to 2021

Just a suggestion, I am not sure whether it will work or not, try "saving as" your company data as the previous name and see if the cloud backup works when closing the company.

When I do that, It says " this copy will not be shared company" If I click "oK" then it says" This company is connected to  Microsoft 365 account, however the copy you are creating will not be connected" If I save it once everyone is logged off this evening will my employees still be able access it tomorrow?

I didn't know you were running RDA. I believe when your company was renamed after backup for some reason it did not reflect the change in Microsoft 365. Contact RDA department of Sage for answers. Look under Resources, Solve, Visit the Remote Data Access and chat and setup a case #. In the meantime do a manual backup.

I solved the problem. by deleting the file in APPDATA/Roaming/Sage/AAD folder. Then going to File/Office 365 connection in Sage.  When that didn't work I had to replace the tokencache SageDataEschange.sqlite files, Instructions found in https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId-92449&sliceId-1.
