SAGE 50 SHUTTING DOWN AFTER A PERIOD OF INACTIVITY - PLEASE HELP

I HAVE HAD ISSUES SINCE THE LAST UPDATE IN DECEMBER 2021. IF I HAVEN'T BEEN ON SAGE FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, I GET THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE: 

This transaction could not be processed because the company database could not be found, or the database engine is not running. If your company data is stored on a network computer, make sure that the network drive is accessible from your computer. Sage 50 will now close. Any unsaved work will be lost. 

I KEEP GETTING THIS ERROR. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE COMPUTER OR ANY OTHER PROGRAM.

    I have this same problem. I exit out of SAGE. Open any other file that is one the same drive that SAGE is on. Close that file. then Open SAGE. When you open sage I have to open "select an existing company" then find the correct company to open. Once I do this, the next tune I open SAGE I can open same company I was previously working on. Hope this helps

    Hi Tanya...How did you figure this out. So far,  your solution has worked. First time in a long time I went a whole morning without Sage shutting down on me. Thank you so much for this feedback and possible solution. Crossing my fingers! Have a great day! :)
