FINTRAC Compliance Requirements for EFT

SOLVED

Am I the only customer who uses vendor direct payment Bambora (Worldline) with SAGE50 Canada version?

Am I the only customer who has been asked to now provide a vendor detail file for every EFT made through SAGE and Bambora? This information is already available in SAGE for each vendor. Why wouldn't SAGE amend the transaction file that is sent to Bambora to include the compulsory information that is required by FINTRAC?

Please note, the files that are currently submitted to Worldline do not have addresses for the vendors/employees or the other required information.

Is anyone else considering moving accounting systems with vendor direct payments that already comply without downloading this to the customer?

I am as well and I agree this is complete bull!

They knew this was coming down the pipeline yet couldn't be bothered to write a program to pull this information while doing the export?  Now we are expected to do their job for them by submitting the data.  The CRA didnt ask us to change our business practice they asked MSBs like Bambora. And now they are dumping their work on us.

I use and pay Bambora for the convenience of their services.  This process now takes that convenience away and will most likely take an additional 15-30minutes to do each time - so what is the benefit to us for using their service??

Do we see a discount in fees for doing part of their job now??  I can process EFT's through the bank for basically the same price/transaction.  If its going to take the extra time anyway then I might as well just do it myself.

I do books for multiple companies and will be recommending them all to cancel the direct payment service and process directly through their banks to avoid this.
