Anyone here able to install Sage Simply Accounting Pro version 9.0 in windows 10?
If Yes how did you do it anything you tweak to make it running or added a software for it to run in Windows 10 environment?
Hi GMJar ,
Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, Sage no longer provides support for versions of Sage 50 Canada that predate the 2023 version, and as of March 31st, we will only support the 2024 version. However, you may find community support or third-party resources on this forum. Additionally, considering an upgrade to a more recent version could provide you with an improved experience and the latest features, as well as official support from Sage.
When attempting to install older software on Windows 10, you can follow these general tips to increase your chances of success:
Compatibility Mode: Right-click on the installer, select 'Properties', go to the 'Compatibility' tab, and set the compatibility mode to the version of Windows the software was originally designed for.
Run as Administrator: Right-click on the installer and choose 'Run as administrator'. This gives the installer permissions that may be necessary for older software.
Install Required Dependencies: Some older programs might require specific older versions of software dependencies like .NET Framework or Visual C++ Redistributable which you may need to install.
Disable Windows Features: Occasionally, disabling certain Windows features like User Account Control (UAC) can help, but this makes your system less secure, so it's advisable to re-enable it after the installation.
Use a Virtual Machine: If compatibility mode does not work, you could set up a virtual machine (VM) with the version of Windows the software was designed for.
Check for Updated Versions or Patches: Sometimes, the software manufacturer releases patches or updated versions that are more compatible with newer operating systems.
Consult Online Forums and Communities: Often, user communities may have found workarounds for specific software.
Third-Party Compatibility Tools: There are third-party programs that can help with running older software on newer operating systems.
Professional Support: If the software is critical for your business, it might be worth consulting with a professional IT service provider.
Remember that running outdated software can expose your system to security vulnerabilities, so ensure that your system is protected with updated antivirus software and that you're making regular backups of important data.
If you decide to upgrade or have any questions about the latest versions, we're here to help guide you through the process.
Warm Regards,
Erzsi
Name a tool you know regarding this Third-Party Compatibility Tools that you have proven and tested?
Tried already 1, 2, 4, 7
Can't try 3,6, because it is not yet installed so I can't say what is it needing.
#5 is the last resort of action but not really interested for a VM as of now
#8 I have checked the net can you give me specific software name?
#9 is for the upgrade already we only want to make it RUN on W10 XP but it is obsolete anymore tsk!
I just want to clarify is AccPac version 9 the same with Sage 300?
Anyone here still has answer for this?
Almost 200 people have viewed your thread so yes, people are here. Erzsi has provided some information but you have not indicated many details regarding what did not work and why.

If "it is not yet installed" means SA 9, then how did you try #1 and #2?
I personally can't diagnose a problem I have never seen before, nor can I diagnose a problem when I don't know what is happening. Usually trying to use older software, techs recommend a virtual machine with an older version of Windows on it.
Personally I don't think I have run version 9 since around 2010. Normally people will post error or warning messages when something goes wrong. That helps tell us what is happening. We don't know if you got to the select company dialog or if you can attempt to open the sample file.
Did the JET engine get installed properly? It's my understanding that it does not come with Windows anymore and that it must be installed separately. SA 9 did install some components of the JET engine but I don't know if it installed everything or relied on some parts pre-installed with Windows. I don't know if the current versions of MS Access will include the required components either. My best guess would be that if this is the problem, you would get to the open company dialog but not be able to open any database and you would get error messages, but you have not given us that information.
I don't know where the JET engine is (other than it is a Microsoft component) nor what needs to be installed. You will have to do the work on that yourself. I don't think I can help much more than this. Good luck.
Hi guys how do we re process keycode generation the in charge already resign and the keycode for AccPac v9.0 is missing should we give email to Accpac if yes

I will try to VM this I still have the S/N: but the keycode is code is nowhere to be found what is the best course for this?
You have mentioned ACCPAC twice now but have not explained why. You are in a forum for Sage 50. Are you using ACCPAC? If so, the moderators will move your thread to the proper forum where you may get some help.
You are in a forum called Sage 50 Canada. There is a lot of software owned by the company called Sage. Sage bought ACCPAC about 20 years ago from ACCPAC International.
But while Sage 50 Canada used to be called Simply Accounting, it has been renamed Sage 50 Canada. It is only one piece of software the company owns here in Canada. This link here shows most of the software the company Sage owns in North America. About 10 years ago someone got the bright idea that everyone wants to own a BMW and all BMW's are numbers so let's number our software. There are about 5 or 6 versions of Sage 50 around the world and all are different. For example, Sage 50 US is the old Peachtree program.
AccPac is owned by Sage but was renamed Sage 300. I can't answer if it is the same as AccPac 9 because I don't know the software. Someone in the Sage 300 forum can help with that.
You did not answer the question
Are you using ACCPAC?
If you answer it, the moderators will direct this thread to the correct forum if applicable.
Yes we are using AccPac v9
Hi GMJAR,
Moving this post to the correct Sage 300 Support Group. This product was previously known as Sage Accpac.
Thanks,
Derek
There is no such thing as Accpac v9.
OK lets make it complete Simply Accounting Pro AccPac Version 9.0 is that now understandable?
So what is this really called? Simply Accounting Pro AccPac V9.0 I can upload the CD image if you like
I've been doing Accpac since the late 80's and never heard of this.
what is that you never heard?
9. The original Accpac for MS/DOS product stopped at 7.
I will attach the CD image for you to view the picture
That's OK. We'll chock this one up to an idiot VP in the marketing department who misused the name. I have no idea how v9 works.
Are we on the same p[age now?
Sure, and it's 100% obsolete. Throw that CD away.
I am practicing to restore it it is still running in the server we would just like to have a contingency plan if the server is damage, hack, virus we can restore the system.
Anything you can recommend?
