Will the 3rd party software be on the same network as the Sage server? 

Or will the queries need to work over the internet (to a cloud service)?

Different servers.  We have or are in the process of moving everything to a cloud environment, with the exception of Sage 100 of course; with the potential of moving to X3 in the near future.  We are in the early stages with Master Control but Director of QA is leaning heavy that way and from demo I've seen and talked to one other consultant, it's sounds really good for what we need.

ODBC is your easiest solution to extract 100 data. You might want to look at ScriptBasic for external scripting.

From a meeting we had late in the day on Friday, we want to have importing and exporting of data in real time.  With Master Control being an electronic document piece of software, we need to extract Manufacturing, Inventory and such, but then import/"update" work tickets and inventory information in real time.  VI would not be the answer for this. 

Any ideas or recommendations on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the article Kevin.  I'll look into ROI Consulting option as the Manufacturing WT starts in SO Entry and with some customization, I would assume they might be able to work with JT on a real time basis.  I'm still not understanding SData and if that is a better fit, but I'll contact our VAR.
