Thank you for your response, I get a prompt to select an account number from the accounts available, and I selected an account the report already has also after I gave the filter criteria in those subreports it didn't make any difference after I ran the report.

I actually want to reduce the amount of data the report retrieves since it takes a very long time to run the report, I'm not sure if this is the correct approach for this.

Any advice or solution for this ?

Yes unfortunately ! I can actually show you the prompts I received when I tried to apply the filters if that will help 

Sure because if you have the filters set as above I have no idea without looking at it to tell you why this is happening.

I got these prompts and I do have a question whether I need to enter the year as the comparison value or select those system variables under the "@" ?

I did do the same for all the subreports u mentioned.

Also now when I tried to apply the filter it did not ask to select the GL account number.

You can just type in the year i.e. 2020

Adding this filter would not change the GL Account Parameter?

so I signed out of sage and signed in and now after I select the comparison method I get this prompt and all these numbers are the GL account numbers we have.

When I select one of these numbers I get the prompt to enter the comparison value - which is the year you mentioned.

Not sure what you mean by comparison method?

This isn't part of a standard report I am aware of.

Who built the report for you?

This report was build sometime back and it was built inhouse, I meant about this as the comparison method

If you have access to the Report Manager you should be able to Export the report.

I used the Fiscal Year Field and the same subreports you mentioned earlier, Im not trying to compare anything, just want to filter out the last 5 years data for all accounts.

In the following 3 sub reports click on the report. Click on Filters.

They should look like this:

I get the below form (this has the GL account numbers Sage runs on) and I can select only one (even though I have 8 accounts that this report has), what should I do with this ?

So these are divisions, and yes the filters do work but the report loading time does not reduce significantly. anyways thank you for your support ( I was banned for "spamming" on this thread, had to reach out to sage customer support to get me unbanned), hence why it took me this much of time to respond to you.
