To balance the TB, first determine what line did not post.  Then do a JE using the SAME source journal, the SAME source number and the SAME JE date as the original transaction.  You do need rights to do ONE SIDED entry.

Did you get an error during the update?

Sage won't let you post if a GL account is missing.  If you didn't get an error most likely you have the wrong GL account in the setup so it did both a debit and credit.

You need to take you Payroll data entry audit report and employer expense summary and figure out what the entry should be.

GENERALLY, Sage won't you post OOB, but OOB's get into the daily transaction register and then posted the detail posting table.
