There is no way to do this because not only is the history recorded in the GL but also in the other modules where the GL code is part of the transaction history tables.

You can use the GL Change Utility.  It can "renumber" to a new non-existing GL Account or it can Merge Two existing accounts together.  Be sure to key in Starting and Ending GL Account as the same value, and do this Change to one GL account per line (don't use a range of GL Accounts).  Do in a Test company first and confirm you have a good backup before making this change in your live data.  It is not easy to correct if you do the process incorrectly. 

Someone's never renumbered GL accounts...  :-)

Where do I find the GL Change Utility? I've moused around and don't see it. A bogus account number was accidentally created and it changed our account history back to 2011 and removed all the expense for the original account number; even though the new bogus account was mapped to the correct expense. 

Please let me know if this isn't available in Sage 50. I stated that was my program, but this appears to be for Sage 100.
