Have you tried 1000-100-02:9999-999-03 already?

Man, I wish it was that easy. That only partially works. For example, it filters out 1000-100-01, but still includes 2000-100-01 for some reason. 

I was thinking there must be some wildcard that would work like 1000-%:9999-%-02-03. It's simple if there is only the 2 segments, it's that 3rd that's a bugger.

Put your account range, with wildcards as needed, in Column A.  Then in Column B, limit it like this:

ACSEGVAL03 = "02" or ACSEGVAL03 = "03" 

Ya, this is more what I was thinking. I thought there was a way to use column B as a filter. I'll test it out. Does <> "01" work? They have several dozen segment 3 values. Would be easier to exclude the one. Or maybe, because I want to filter the first one on the list then > "01" might work. I'll do some more testing.

This works: ACSEGVAL03 > "A01", but only because A01 is the first segment ID in the list. If it was a segment in the middle somewhere (like N55), I wonder if we could do something like this: ACSEGVAL03 = "A01:N54" or "N56:Z99"

FRS is a fully integrated (no Excel required) financial reporter for Sage300 which is much easier to use and has way more features. It's also fairly inexpensive.

In FRS, you can just select the segment from the drop-down list and enter a range (using the finder if you wish).

Having said that, are your segment values all 2 characters long? If you have values like "021", "024", "031", "034", "041", "044" and you are trying to get all the 02s to 03s then you will have to do something like:

ACSEGVAL03 >= "02" AND (ACSEGVAL03 <= "03" OR ACSEGVAL03 LIKE "03%")

FRS does this automatically.

Otherwise, just  ACSEGVAL03 >= "02" AND ACSEGVAL03 <= "03"  should work. 

Thanks. I am aware of FRS and really do need to mention it more often to clients. I did get it working using column B and the ACSEGVAL operator.

If you want to use OR, you have to include the full equation on both sides, like

(ACSEGVAL03 >= "A01" AND ACSEGVAL03 <= "N54") OR (ACSEGVAL03 >= "N56" AND ACSEGVAL03 <= "Z99")

... but in this case it's probably easier to just exclude N55! -  ACSEGVAL03 != "N55"
