When we do stock count only on some items it shows the correct quantity on hand some items its shows the quantity counted but then on others it just shows 0.0000 even though the variance is correct, How can we fix this

Ok Under my stock count Sheet namely I/C Inventory reconciliation (ICWK02) some items that has been counted displays as a zero instead of the amount counted e.g. quantity on hand will display as 23 and we will count 26 the variance would be 3 but on the sheet it displays the quantity counted as a zero instead of 26.

But the data has been entered how would it know the quantity difference if no data was entered?

How are you entering the physical inventory counts?

with a data scanner? Export to a csv file using dataread then import using a stocktake program from softline retail

Your counts were not updated in Sage 300, something went wrong. Contact their support.

In order for the "count" and "variance" to show properly in the report, you need to change the csv file in two places. There is the QTYCOUNTED field in RECTYPE 1 and QTYCOUNTED field in RECTYPE 2. If you do not change both values, your report will not show correctly.

It can't be because we only upload the stock counted and the stock counted displays 0 even though the amount was entered but the variance is correct and it only does this with some of the items. not all of them. See the image what I mean, if there is perhaps a way to import my CSV counted stock directly to my inventory worksheet, perhaps that can help.

Do you have a version how the CSV format should look like cause it makes no sense that it detects most but not all

Is there no easy way instead of wasting my time, e.g upload CSV directly to the counting worksheet, why should we use third party application to allow us to do this, quickbooks, pastel etc all have this so I doubt a program as expensive as sage will not be able to do this

Yes but I want to get rid of the softline thing and do an easier method.
At this moment we first use the data scanner to count the stock
Connect it to cradle then export it to a csv cable
then use the softline to import the data
then import to accpac again

What I want to do is export itmes from scanner to CSV
Then open accpac and import the CSV to scock count sheet
Then run a variance report, there has to be a simpler more effective way without using softline

Raw scanner output cannot be directly imported into Sage. If you don't use Softline, then you'll have to write your own program to convert the data into the proper format.

How old is this softline software? There was a softline that went out of business long ago. Then there is Sage Softline in South Africa, but they do not do scanner software as far as I know.

It should be Softline South Africa, The scanner the issue is resolved it's just the 0 that is really disturbing us when counting stock because how do you explain that you counted 0 but the variance is correct to accountants

If the issue is resolved then why are you questioning it? That statement makes no sense at all. Contact the software vendor to get it resolved. This is a predominantly USA focused forum and you're not going to get an answer here for software that seems to be specific to SA. Or contact a local knowledgeable Sage 300 consulting firm like Lorge http://www.lorge.co.za/ to get it resolved.
