Revision No. VS Bom Number

What is the difference between revision no. and bom number for BOM? Right now the BOM number is what we use to reference a change has been made (a revision) and the revision no. always stays at 1.00

does this help explain what I'm talking about? The Bom Number highlighted above is where we actually keep track of the Revision of each BOM and an item number can have many different BOM Revisions. Where on the other hand the Revision No. also highlighted yellow, it always stays at 1.00, we don't touch that at all. Are we supposed to rev both or only one? I can't figure it out. hope that helps.

    thanks
