Determining if a budget was closed

SOLVED

Is there an easy way to determine if someone closed a budget period?

    Hi Steve,

Do you mean if someone clears the amounts in Maintain Budget?

If it is, there is no way to know that.

    Thank you,

    Sorry was not clear.

    From the accountant staff:

When someone closes Dec GL you are prompted "Budgets already exist for year 2023. Do you want these overwritten with the GL Options "Year End Copy" setting.

Can we tell if someone chose yes?

Trying to determine if this was done in December and if it was, who.

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to find who did the process the Period/Year End closing.  Sorry. Disappointed

One follow up question from our accountants (I'm just a humble developer)

to be clear the background is it appears someone inadvertently chose yes to the question 'do you want to copy' when they should have chosen 'no'.

The team would like to know if there are any negative impact to changing the gloption for 'Year End Copy' from 'Copy Budget' to 'NONE' (other than the obvious having to remember to perform the 'Year End Copy' when it is supposed to be done.

    Thank you in advance

If you open GL Options, and go to that field 'Year End Copy', this is what it says "

    Year End Copy

Specify a source for creating the new fiscal years default budget at year-end. The source can be none (no default budget will be created), actuals, or the budget you select in the Copy Budget field.

    Hope that helps.
