I am assuming you tried to activate on the server first.

Thank you very much, we have tried several times with support and things got worse. We stopped using the server version a few years ago (11 yr User), it is just a single server.  I will try this method as mentioned.

Status:

• Sage Accounting 50 Premium worked great up to the upgrade date on the same PC (Windows 10 Pro PC i7 32G Ram SSD 512 and 2TB Drives)
• All firewalls/Malware/DNS security systems disabled and it still does not activate online or locally.
• All other applications still work well and the Internet works for all other services
• I tried our serial number on a different PC and it will not activate either 

 Questions:

Why does this new 2018 software not work on the same PC

Is there a patch or fix for this version? I seen one is out, but the software has to be able to run in order to load it

As far as I am aware of our account is paid and our subscription is still good, Sage back office mixup????

Should we go back to 2017 till they work our the issues with 2018?

OOPS!  We stopped using the server version a few years ago (11 yr User), it is just a single PC.  

The 2018 software should install & activate the licenses on that PC as a stand alone just fine. You state the issue is you can't activate the license.

If you install on a server you must activate the license on the server first then activate on the workstations.

For Windows 10 os, right click on the Sage 50 Icon. Choose properties, compatibility tab, check to run in windows 8 compatibility mode and check run as administrator. Try launching the sage 50 app now & try to activate the license.

You might have a conflict with other software on the workstation so I would change the computer start up to only run Microsoft apps. then see if you can activate the licenses.

You could have a problem with the Pervasive install (pervasive holds the licenses on the server), so if the above steps fail, I would manually uninstall the Pervasive software and reinstall it. On the server and on the workstation. I would probably uninstall Sage 2018 too.

If none of this works I would go back to the 2017 with the correct service release until I could resolve the issue.   FYI- you can have both 2017 and 2018 installed on the same workstation if you install 2018 to a new program path and data path on the same workstation. This way you can keep your accounting going while also troubleshooting 2018.  You just can't be in 2017 and 2018 at the same time.
