Client doesn't "see" activation

Installed SAGE 50 US on a Windows 2016 server. Activated manually on the server. It worked. I can run SAGE 50 on the server and access my data.

Then, installed on client. But when I try to open the app on the client, I’m getting the message "Your activation key for Sage 50 has expired. Please start Sage 50 on the Sage 50 company data server, SHIPPING_WIN7, to activate". But SHIPPING_WIN7 is the client, not the server. I’ve looked at Peachtree250.ini on the client: datapath=P:\

This is the correctly mapped drive.

When I opened a SAGE chat session, they pointed me to an article that suggested remove & reinstall SAGE 50 on the server. That’s like my barber suggesting decapitation to solve my hair-loss issue.

Anyway, I’m stumped. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    The mapping of the datapath on the workstation could be your issue. Sage 50 behaves correctly when it can see a folder between the drive letter (P) and the actual data folder, (your company name abbreviated)  The default folder Sage uses is "Company".  The Company folder is where Sage installs all of the common files that are shared by all the workstations. So if you included that company folder as part of the mapped drive, the shared files can't be accessed by the workstations.

    On the server lets say the datapath is C:\peachtree\company.  When you map the workstation do not include the folder "company" in the map. So the datapath in Peachtreetree250.ini should be p:\Company\

    Rather that uninstalling anything,disconnect the mapped drive and remap it correctly then change the Peachtree250.ini to P:\company\.

    Having said the above, it is important to mention if you do not have a folder that represents the company folder position on the servers datapath that separates the root drive from the data, then you do have to uninstall Sage on the server and reinstall it correctly. Once the server is installed and activate again, change the Peachtree250.ini to P:\company\ on the workstation only.
